History

Simac was founded in the Netherlands on October 1st 1971 by M.J. van Schagen. With his bedroom as his office he starts as the exclusive European representative for the American company Singer Instrumentation. The name Simac is the result of the combination of two names: SInger and MAC, Van Schagen's first name.

Year to date the one-man business from 1971 has grown to a large company, noted at at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. More than 800 employees work in several places of business throughout The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Simac-companies focus on the markets for industrial electronics & automation (IE&A) and information & communication technology (ICT).

Belgium
Simac was founded in Belgium in 1972. The company merged with Netbuilding in 1997, forming Simac ICT Belgium, active in network and system integration. The head office is located in Kortenberg with a second office in Haasrode. Simac ICT Belgium employs more than 150 ICT professionals.
