IBC2006 saw the introduction of SAM. If you were lucky enough to meet SAM, you will have at least one of your problems solved. If not, this is your chance to get some peace of mind!
IBC2006 was very successful for Simac Broadcast. As part of their end-to-end solution approach, the company introduced their new Service Analysis & Monitoring System, commonly known as SAM, and developed by Impeq Software. The system is designed to provide real-time monitoring information at the various stages of video/audio processing for traditional broadcast systems and IP TV systems. Benefits One of the system’s major benefits is that it provides cost-effective Quality of Service for program delivery to customers. SAM monitors all services at every stage of signal processing within the network e.g. after decoding, encoding, multiplexing, scrambling and modulation stage. Furthermore, the system measures all services on quality and the presence of mandatory information. Monitoring and Analysing Features As far as user-friendliness is concerned, the Service Analysis & Monitoring System features a one-click alarm overview, where all current alarms including priority, time and alarm text are displayed. All alarms are user-definable to assist operators in making the right decisions. Also, SAM has the possibility to give priority levels to errors recorded. For analysing purposes, various reports can be generated to create a clear overview of system performance. Detailed in-depth overviews are available on PSI / SI information, program information and bitrate information.
SAM is a very powerful tool that brings peace of mind to program delivery.
Its inttroduction at IBC aroused a lot of interest among visitors from all over the world.
