Digital Broadcasting services group, IMPEQ, announces that today it acquired all remaining shares (50%) in Simac Broadcast that it did not own from Simac Techniek, making Simac Broadcast a 100% IMPEQ company.
The joint venture Simac Broadcast was formed in 2003 creating a services company dedicated to digital television broadcasting. The venture has experienced success and rapid growth in the past years including new and renewed contracts with many leading European broadcasters. Clients include Arqiva (UK), CanaalDigital (NL), Globecast (UK), KPN (NL), MTV Networks Europe (UK), SKY Italia (IT), Telenet (BE) and Ziggo (NL). The unit provides digital headend equipment and more recently turnkey QAM and HFC upgrades to meet the insatiable demand for services and bandwidth on ageing cable networks, all installations are supported by a 24x7 multi-vendor pan-European service operation.
The deal allows Simac Broadcast to be fully integrated into the activities of the IMPEQ Group. IMPEQ already offers a wide range of digital transmission products and services operating in Europe, India, and South-East Asia. The portfolio covers end to end services for cable, satellite, terrestrial and IPTV operators, including turn key digital terrestrial network roll out, network planning and design services, set-top box verification and certification, software development and specialist DVB product development.

The deal is part of a wider strategy inside IMPEQ to unify its global activities. In these areas the timetable for digitalisation is very aggressive and premium transmission solutions must be delivered very effectively to meet the high demands of these markets.
