KPN and Simac maintain VPN-network for 950 Zeeman-supers

Zeeman textielSupers and KPN have signed a 5-year network contract. KPN will roll out a EuroRings MPLS VPN-network together with Simac ICT Nederland that links all 950 Zeeman textielSupers in 5 European countries and the head office to each other.

With this contract an amount of several millions of Euro’s is concerned. This international company network gives the European store chain the possibility to optimize the working processes and to reduce costs by introducing Voice over IP and Pinning over IP. This substantial order proves that KPN is a major and reliable supplier in the field of international network solutions.

This international network solution based on Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) offers a safe, reliable and fit for the future communication infrastructure that enables convergence of other  networks, such as the speech network. Through this network the different European Zeeman textielSupers can interchange data and communicate with each other in a safe and economic manner. Also the network offers subsidiaries the possibility to gain access to heavy centralized company software such as internet applications and cash and HRM applications.

‘We have selected KPN because in all European countries in which Zeeman textielSupers is located they can also supply cost efficient DSL-connections to the subsidiaries. Zeeman textielSupers is a cost conscious company; this is expressed among others things in our low consumer prices. The selection of the EuroRings MPLS VPN-network solution by KPN therefore fits extremely well in our company philosophy. It is a cost efficient, flexible network that is prepared for future developments. In the near future the number of Zeeman subsidiaries will be expanded considerably and the new stores then can be connected easily and within a short time to this company network. The network gives us the possibility to add new applications in the future such as Direct Instore Marketing (DIM), through which we can publish commercial messages on LCD-screens in the stores. Thanks to this system we are able to inform our customers in the best possible way in the stores about for instance our delivery programme, bargains and special offers', says Paul Schouwenaar, CEO Zeeman Groep B.V.

Marcel Smits, CFO KPN: ‘Zeeman textielSupers selected KPN as preferred supplier for all her ICT-needs. Besides  the telephone trafic, fixed and mobile, Zeeman also accomodated all pin traffic with KPN. We are pleased to now also expand our existing services to a leading retail chain such as Zeeman textielSupers on an international level. We will roll out this new company network in close co-operation with our partner Simac and Simac will also take care of  network management.’
