History
Founded in 1947, Boonton quickly developed a reputation for innovative solutions in the design of power meters, RF voltmeters, and impedance measuring equipment. Today, these systems are used in a wide variety of applications throughout the world. Boonton has recorded several important "firsts" over the years, including the first power sensors using full-wave rectification and the first two-channel power meter. Keeping its core products intact, Boonton has designed new products for emerging "wireless" applications, including cellular/PCS, direct satellite broadcasting, and HDTV. In July 2000 Boonton became a member of a larger family as they were acquired by Wireless Telecom Group.
