What personal data do we process
During your interaction with Simac, we ask for or receive certain personal data. We only collect personal data that is necessary for the provision of our services. This includes personal data such as:
- your name, email address, telephone number, job, (business) address and/or (business) bank account number
- your preferences for future communications from Simac
- details of products and/or services that you have purchased or showed an interest in
- depending on your preferences on social media platforms: data about your online activities and social media profiles
We do not intend to collect personal data of persons aged under 16, unless they have the permission of a parent or guardian. However, we are not always able to verify someone’s age. We therefore advise parents to monitor their children's online activities, so as to prevent their personal data being collected without parental consent. If you feel that we have collected personal data of a minor without consent, please contact us. We will then proceed to erase the data.
We will not store your personal data for longer than is legally allowed and necessary for the purposes for which we process your personal data. The specific storage period depends on the nature of the personal data and the purposes for which they are processed. We take personal data protection very seriously and we therefore implement adequate safeguards to protect your personal data against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorised alteration.
Transfer of your personal data to third parties
The Simac subsidiaries regularly team up to provide you with even better services. To be able to offer you the best possible service, we combine the personal data that we have obtained because you are a customer of ours.
We may furthermore share your personal data with business partners and other third parties. If such a transfer of your personal data to a third party requires your consent or if we deem it necessary, we will ask you for consent before sharing your personal data. We will only share your personal data for purposes such as the following:
- To provide or execute our services
We engage business partners and other third parties to help us deliver our products and services to you. We will always give you advance notice of such collaborations. To the extent that these third parties have access to your personal data, we have taken contractual and organisational measures to guarantee that your personal data are protected and used only for specific purposes.
- To improve our services, website, or advertisements
We use third-party software to track the success of a new product page among website visitors. Telephone calls may be recorded for quality assurance purposes.
- To get feedback
We use survey companies to conduct surveys to find out how satisfied you are with our services.
- To meet a legal obligation
We may be required under a police order to disclose your personal data to the police.
We will not sell your personal data to third parties. We require our business partners to commit to making a maximum effort to guarantee the same level of protection of your personal data as we do. In data processing agreements with our business partners, we record the purposes for which they are allowed to use your personal data and require them to implement appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal data.
You have the right to access the personal data you have shared, or to have them rectified or erased (provided this is allowed by the law and possible in a practical sense). Aside from that, you have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data or to object to the processing of your personal data by Simac. You also have the right to data portability.
Requests to this effect can be submitted using the contact details specified below. To prevent misuse, we will always ask you for proof of ID when you submit such requests. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, at least within 4 weeks. We would also like to point out that you have the option to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority, which in the Netherlands is the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
If you do not want to receive any marketing communications from us, please let us know by ticking the appropriate box on the form or by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email from us. We will then proceed to have your personal data blocked for marketing communications.
