CHALLENGE
Tervuren is a quiet, green and modern town made up of more than 22,000 inhabitants and 350 employees. To ensure the smooth operation of every municipal service, Tervuren manages 72 active IT applications, from accounting to camera security and ticket sales for the cultural center. The continuous availability of email plays a key factor in the communication between these services, but Tervuren’s own email server had difficulties in coping with their employees’ rising demands.
SOLUTION
To guarantee business continuity and security, Tervuren decided to make the transition to the cloud, and specifically to Microsoft Office 365. Together with the client, Simac ICT Belgium determined the scope of the project, planned and implemented the solution and provided the necessary follow-up support.
RESULTS
- Easy email management
Since the implementation of Office 365, municipal employees can access their email anytime and anywhere. The easy integration of this email solution with their smartphones is especially well-received, as it was previously next to impossible to synchronize the two.
- Secure data storage
Microsoft securely manages the email data of the employees of Tervuren in the cloud. The information security cell of the municipality even made a risk analysis of the solution and they have the added confidence to know that Microsoft stores their data in the European Union, in accordance with the highest standards.

The employees of Tervuren are very pleased with the fast and professional approach of Simac, but they are even more impressed with the personal contact they have with Simac consultants.
