From industrial automator to solution partner. That, at its core, is the development of Simac QuadCore. The number of employees increased by 20% in 2022. The ambition has been expressed to continue this growth in 2023.
The 2022 targets were met. But perhaps even more important than that, Alfred Wesseling, managing director of Simac QuadCore, feels that his organisation has grown more emphatically towards that role of solution partner.
"To give an example: at one of our customers in the mechanical engineering sector, we are migrating a large number of machines from a conventional control to a smart control environment. We want to offer precisely that added value to our customers. Bringing them into our approach and way of working which makes the 'bond' and cooperation with the customer stronger."
Evolution towards solution partner
To shape its development into a solution partner, the organisation has invested in its own people. Additional engineers were recruited for this purpose. In 2023, the organisation will again invest heavily in all engineers, not only in hard skills, but also in soft skills. "We have started working more from the scrum idea: relieving customers completely, but also giving them more insight. It is nice to see that not only our own people are getting excited about this, but also customers. Training enough scrum masters is the basis for taking our customers into this way of working in addition to our own organisation."
Digital Twins
More and more, Simac QuadCore is moving to the forefront of new developments. To this end, it enters into partnerships with other specialised companies. One of the innovative solutions currently being worked on is Digital Twinning (DT). A DT is a virtual replica of a physical asset or process. It uses sensors and other data sources to gather information. This creates a 'digital twin' that can be used to develop, simulate, analyse and predict a machine before it is actually built. A DT can support the entire lifecycle of a machine. Promising technology!"
Attracting new people
The broadening in the offering leads to new opportunities. Simac QuadCore has traditionally had a strong presence in the Food & Beverage, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Storage and Handling and Water and Environmental Technology industries. Through good partnerships and collaborations, the company broadens its field of vision. This also creates the necessary challenges, for example in terms of sufficient well-trained engineers. "Also in 2023, we have committed to growth to face all these challenging technologies. I am confident that we will succeed. We seek cooperation with technical trainers in the Netherlands and Belgium, as well as being an attractive employer as a family business."
Positive expectations for 2023
Simac QuadCore is on the move and the market is still good. This creates a positive flow and expectations within the organisation. "We step into the future full of confidence and with an open mind. Looking forward to new challenges. We want to completely unburden our customers and support them in a professional manner in the migration to Industry 4.0. The only thing we cannot influence is the political and economic climate. That remains somewhat uncertain. Nevertheless, we do not want to be distracted by that. We are positive and look to the future with confidence."
