As of October 1, Simac has a new CEO. Eric van Schagen has handed over his position to his daughter Maartje. During a large party in the Efteling amusement park, Maartje symbolically received the key under the watchful eye of 1500 Simac employees.
Maartje van Schagen has been working in the family business since 2009. In recent years, as managing director, she was ultimately responsible for the largest operating company, Simac IT NL bv. She continues to fulfill this role, in addition to her CEO position at the Simac holding company.
Next generation
Eric van Schagen took over the CEO role in 1989 from his father Mac van Schagen, the founder of Simac. Having reached retirement age, he felt it was high time for the new generation. Eric is not stopping yet, however. In the coming years, he will continue to support the management board as a board member.
