Eric van Schagen, CEO of Simac, has been elected top man of 2021 by top people in Southeast Brabant. Together with him, Ellis Jeurissen, director Public Health in Eindhoven, was elected top woman. The Eindhoven magazine FRITS announced the results of the election Wednesday evening during an (online) broadcast of the presentation of the FRITS Top 50.
The FRITS Top 50 has existed for twelve years, but this was the first time that the lists were compiled on the basis of elections. Two hundred top people in the region were asked to send in their personal top three women, top men and talents. About sixty per cent responded. Editors of the newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad also sent in their preferences.
FRITS Top 50 household name in the region
The publication of the Top 50 regional top women and top men is a tradition and an annual highlight in the fourteen-year existence of the magazine. "The FRITS Top 50 has in the twelve years of its existence become a concept in the region that others take into account. That is now fully recognized and also shows from the many entries," says publisher and editor-in-chief Hans Matheeuwsen.
Maartje van Schagen on place 14 in FRITS Top 50
The places two and three in the top women are taken by respectively the successful Eindhoven hospitality entrepreneur Eveline Wu and marketing manager Tessie Hartjes of Lightyear in Helmond. It is worth noting that Eric's daughter, Maartje van Schagen, came in at 14th place. Martijn Paulen, managing director of the Dutch Design Foundation/Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, came in second, followed by CEO Willem van der Leegte of the Eindhoven-based VDL Group.
