At Simac, we understand how important efficiency and innovation are for companies like DKG Groep. DKG is the group behind the successful Dutch brands Bruynzeel Keukens and Keller Keukens. From the state-of-the-art factory in Bergen op Zoom, kitchens are produced for both private and business clients. Besides producing its own brands, DKG also puts its expertise to use in developing private labels through DKG Keukens.
Moving from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM
Efficiency and innovation are also important for DKG's SAP systems. This is evidenced by the move to the cloud with SAP Rise, the ongoing upgrade to S/4HANA and the implementation of the BTP Integration Suite that DKG had already deployed. As a result, DKG already had SAP Cloud ALM at its disposal. This is the successor to the SAP Solution Manager that DKG previously used and is end-of-life at the end of 2027.
Successful transition from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM
Since SAP Cloud ALM was already available, it was obvious to continue the transition from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM. Therefore, DKG, together with Simac, carried out a Proof of Concept (PoC). The objective of this PoC was to perform the remaining (monitoring) functionality of SAP Solution Manager with SAP Cloud ALM for Operations from now on. In parallel with this change, the on-premise systems were moved to the cloud. These new cloud systems were then again linked to SAP Cloud ALM. With Simac's help, DKG completed the transition of the operations portion of SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM. All of DKG's SAP systems were migrated to the cloud and SAP Solution Manager was completely replaced by SAP Cloud ALM.
Fast and successful Proof of Concept
Simac's expertise supported DKG in realizing the transition to SAP Cloud ALM. Together with DKG, we managed to set up a PoC and successfully implement it within a few hours. We transferred all functionalities of SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM, with a range of new features, such as:

- Configuration & Security Analysis
- Job & Automation Monitoring
- Real User Monitoring
- Business Process Monitoring
- Alert Management
- Notification Management
The benefits of switching to SAP Cloud ALM
The move to SAP Cloud ALM has the following benefits for DKG:
- Automation quickly detects problems in business processes and improves process performance with analytics and clear reports. We are exploring using Grafana for new custom dashboards based on SAP Cloud ALM data.
- Linking the on-premise systems also provided immediate insight regarding Business Process Monitoring. A workshop is now being planned for DKG's business users to train them in the use of Business Process Monitoring in SAP Cloud ALM.
- Monitoring of all SAP systems will be in one central environment: SAP Cloud ALM.
- SAP Solution Manager has now been completely phased out.
With the successful transition from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM for Operations, DKG has taken another one of many steps in optimizing its SAP systems. This transition, supported by Simac, opens the door to the future.
